Santa Fe Park Guide

Parks are a great free activity! We are lucky to have so many parks in Santa Fe, and we hope this guide is helpful!

Parks in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Did you know Santa Fe offers 77 developed parks, 26 undeveloped parks, and 170 miles of trails? Join us as we explore every park our city has to offer!

Frenchy’s Field Park ☆☆☆

2001 Agua Fria St, Santa Fe, NM 87505

  • This park is great for kiddos who are a little more mobile, but might not have a lot to offer for babies. On windy days, you really do feel like you’re in a field exposed to all the elements lol. BUT - We always count on the swings for a good time! This park also has:

    • Easy, free, and ample parking
    • A great paved waking path for 🐶 and strollers
    • A very steep play structure
    • Arroyo access
    • A cool labyrinth

Ragle Park ☆☆

2530 W Zia Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87505

My husband has many memories of this park from his childhood so C and I were excited to scope it out. First thing you should know: they don’t have baby swings here! But, there are other amenities such as:

  • Ample shade

  • Unique slides

  • Lots of parking

I will say I have a heart attack turning left out of the parking lot, so often I just turn right and go in a loop. A mama on instagram said that there was a fatal accident here not too long ago, so it’s always best to just take the loop and play it safe. I know in the future, we can look forward to little league games here!

Bicentennial/Alto Park ☆☆☆☆☆

1121 Alto St, Santa Fe, NM 87501

Probably one of our favorite parks, and this was before we knew about the pool! Alto park is located right along the River Trail, which is one of our favorite parts.

  • Great for stroller walks and can fit wide strollers - we have the uppababy Vista

  • Low structures for little ones!

  • Swings galore - there are 2 sets of bucket swings!

  • Playing in the river!

Just note, GPS takes you to the other side of the park, if you’re on Alameda just turn at the light onto Cam Alire and turn left on Alto (it’s east to miss) and it takes you right to the parking lot!

Las Estancias Park ☆☆☆☆☆

1234 La Silla Dorada, Santa Fe, NM 87505

A sweet, small neighborhood park that we enjoy since it’s off the beaten path. We call it “Charlie Park” but that’s just hubris - this park belongs to all! Las Estancias is in a quiet neighborhood just off Rodeo Road. It’s perfect, simple, and peaceful.

  • Bucket swings!

  • A shady spot great to have a snack or a picnic

  • Reasonable structure meaning no parts that make mama nervous and appropriately tall slides.

Just note, GPS takes you to the other side of the park, if you’re on Alameda just turn at the light onto Cam Alire and turn left on Alto (it’s east to miss) and it takes you right to the parking lot!

Patrick Smith Park ☆☆☆

1010-1098 E Alameda St, Santa Fe, NM 87501

Nestled in the Canyon Road neighborhood, this park has a giant field great for picnics, but can be quite sunny in the summer months. The parking lots gets very crowded and it’s DIY parking - meaning lots of folx just make their own parking spot haha.

  • There are no bucket swings, but they have swings

  • If you’re lucky, you might run into Tortuga, a giant tortoise, taking his daily walk in the late evenings

  • Access to the river for some water play!
