Baby-Friendly Spots in Santa Fe – Where to Go When You Need to Get Out

This past summer, Violet Crown Santa Fe treated us to something truly special: FREE movies every day! It was such a fantastic experience, and though the free movie days have sadly come to an end (here’s hoping they bring it back – gentle hint and kind request!), it was a highlight of our summer. View the reel here!

How to Enjoy a Movie at Violet Crown

While the free movies may be over for now, catching a flick at Violet Crown is still a great option for family fun. You can easily reserve your tickets online, though there’s a $2 processing fee, or you can just show up and grab tickets at the kiosk in the lobby. We went on a Sunday, so street parking was free! If you prefer parking in the lot, Violet Crown also offers validation. A quick note: the lot is underground, so you’ll need to use the elevator to get back to ground level. Fun fact: I’m claustrophobic, so underground parking lots aren’t for me, but it’s great to know the option is there!

The Perfect Movie Snack

If you’re looking for a great snack deal, the $5 Snack Pack at Violet Crown is a must-try. It comes with popcorn and a drink, which was more than enough for my little one, leaving me with some tasty leftovers – a win-win for any parent! I’d recommend leaving the stroller at home if you can, but don’t worry, the theatre can accommodate one if needed; just know it can be a bit cumbersome.

A Comfortable Movie Experience for Little Ones

Violet Crown does a wonderful job of creating a family-friendly movie environment. The sound isn’t as loud, and the lights aren’t as dim as in a typical movie, making it a comfortable experience for young children. My toddler, C, was mesmerized, sitting with his legs crossed, eyes wide as he watched his favorite movie on the big screen. It was unbelievably cute to see him so absorbed in the magic of the movies.

And what’s more, the space is completely understanding of the needs of families. When M decided to sleep through the whole movie (and by whole movie, I mean about an hour until C got restless), it was no big deal when we had to leave early. The theatre was filled with other families who totally understood – a place where kids can just be kids, whether they’re laughing, squealing, or even crying.

Thank You, Violet Crown!

I’m so thankful to Violet Crown for creating this safe and fun space for families in Santa Fe. It’s not always easy to find activities that are enjoyable for both kids and parents, but this was a summer highlight for us. Movies really are magic, and sharing that magic with my little ones is something I’ll treasure.
